In an magazin Samsung's, Vice President in charge of Flat Panel Development HS Kim, said that while Samsung was one of the leaders in OLED development, it would not sell the technology until it could be made at a price the consumer was willing to pay.

But to our surprise he also said that "We can make larger displays, and we may demonstrate a 50in OLED TV at the CES show in January, though we haven't decided yet," he said, "But how much more would you be willing to pay for such a set?

15-inch OLED Display from LG Display

LG Display is on the verge of beginning commercial production of a 15-inch organic light emitting diode panel that's suitable for use in televisions and laptop computers, the company said Wednesday.

The screen, which is being shown on the sidelines of the International Consumer Electronics Show here in Las Vegas, is just 1.4 millimeters thick and is expected to go into production in June 2009 .The LG Display OLED widescreen panel has a 1,366 pixel by 768 pixel resolution and has a lifetime of 30,000 hours.

"It's likely to come in the second half of this year, as soon as we get customers," said Kim Won, director of OLED sales and marketing at LG Display.
